Towards the end of the video he hilariously jump-jetted into 2 catapults and a commando (I think it was a commando) and somehow survived it. I actually thought he did a good job of early scouting (the part where he jetted to that tunnel and reported something in chat -- I'm assuming it was a backdoor route on that map or something), then transitioned into more a harrasser as the fighting moved into the city where he had stuff to run around. As a pure scout he wasn't perfect with keeping good line of sight on targets but the Jenner is more of a fast brawling scout than a flyweight scout and I actually think the guy did a pretty good job, at least relative to his opponents (I mean, *** Catapults, you have medium lasers, use them when a light mech offers itself up on a buffet platter to you).

Anyway, I think the pilot handled himself well in a Light Mech. He stayed on the move and enemies couldn't ever get a focus or sustained fire upon him. They eventually wore him out but he managed to survive. His survival looked like luck at the end but even if he died his team would have still won. You can tell the map itself isn't finished but it looks promising. I hope they expand upon it some for release though and make it bigger because it looks small and Russ himself said it was small in the "Frozen City" interview.

every time the jenner used his jump jets I could feel my teeth grinding. he also played a little too reckless for his armor rating

Attacking one Catapult close up in something like a Jenner is a great idea. Leeroying into a gaggle of them with close-fire support nearby? Maybe not. But considering that it worked out for him, maybe he's just that slick.

My bigger concern is all the visible warping/teleporting in a 12v12 game. I'm concerned as to how they calculate weapon collision with high latency/packet loss.

Yeah, he damaged his legs pretty badly on two particular jumps. Hint: only use about 75% of your jump jets for the main jump, and then keep the rest to help soften your landing
I also think he was more in the thick of things at the end than he needed to be, but at the same time victory was a foregone conclusion at that point, so he may have just wanted to get it over with and on to the next match

i understand from dev interviews that the map in question requires you to use thermal vision in some places to see enemies, so maybe the guy running past just didn't see the atlas? who knows
over all i thought the scout in the vid did a good job but i dont see how he made it out alive at the end there

- using shortcuts to scout
- moving towards pockets of enemies to scout, but staying out of range
- keeping up with the team, to not get singled out, circling around them to spot
bad:
- standing still a lot
- shooting heavy or assault mechs without circle strafing (to outrun their torso twist & turn speed)
- coming out of cover, shooting, and just remain there - ideally you shoot when already moving back to cover, not giving opportunity to retaliate
- Shooting heavier classes while there is a light class around, when you're not heavy yourself. He should have taken care of the commando at the end, not the 2 catapults.Only bite off what you can chew. Shooting them occasionally to confuse them and buy time for your teammate is OK.
- Not boosting right before landing after jump jet use
- inefficient heat management / weapon grouping. Cooling down for an alpha strike against a heavy won't do that much, just keep firing single blasts until you reach cover to recharge. Saw him running a lot while doing nothing or just shooting srm volleys (one srm4 won't do much).

Now that I got that out, IMO a lot of shots were missed that should have landed due to range involved.
